March 4, 2012
1 week away
Location: Woodend, Vctoria
Details:
After a successful beginning in 2011 the clock2clock Challenge is back for its second year where you are welcomed back to the beautiful Macedon Ranges for more Mountain Bike fun!
Starting from the Clock Tower in the centre of Woodend Town, the Clock Tower will strike the hour and the start of the 70km Race. Riders will jump to life jamming cleats into pedals and the street will buzz with the sound of knobs on the tar. With a Police escort leading riders up Mt Macedon Rd the course will then follow scenic fire roads past Braemar to Mc Gregors Picnic Ground. Then after rocketing down the Chute and flowing back down to Bawden Rd via fast fire roads and through Mt Macedon Winery, riders can re-hydrate at the first feed zone.
Using the cool fire roads below Bawden Rd in Macedon Regional Park including the Macedon Ranges Cycling Trail. Then the single track junkies will be in their element, winding through the Pine forest. The second feed station will be in this section of the race. Heading back to town and then through the streets of Woodend, riders will come through the race centre. Head out again for a second lap to complete the 70km race. There is also a 35km option of a single lap.
