Brendan Bailey

As a kid, Brendan Bailey spent a lot of time bashing through the bush on a borrowed mountain bike. Later in life he borrowed slightly better bikes and spent even more time cycling around foreign countries, even working as a bike messenger for a short period of time. Upon returning to Australia he finally purchased his own bike, which he proceeded to ride all over town.

After placing in a variety of alleycats – in a variety of ridiculous outfits – Brendan was finally convinced that he should give track racing a try. A couple of sessions at DISC and he was hooked. A year and a half later and Brendan has scored sweet new scars, as well as some noteworthy results, including 5th place in the 2010 Melbourne Cup on Wheels and a 4th place overall in the international Global Gutz alleycat. Never letting go of his roots, Brendan can still be found at alleycats, but is now more likely to be standing on a checkpoint, resting his legs.

We all love to talk cycling – sometimes more than actually doing it – and Brendan is no exception. You can here his commentary at Brunswick Roller Racing, read his blog or just approach him for a chat. He’s really quite personable.
