In the North East pocket of the Victorian High Country, toward the Alpine National Park is Mt Beauty. Nestled at the base of the Falls Creek ski resort it is home to the Big Hill Mountain Bike Park. This MTB park is widely regarded as one of Australia’s premier cross country and downhill areas.
Big Hill is a diverse park with plenty of trails to ride. From easy switchback climbs to “hold on to your kidneys” descents there is a little bit of everything. The park has a great assortment of singletrack, double track and fire-road trails.
Make sure you ride all the way to the top of Big Hill at least once and take in the surrounding valley vistas – that is, after you’ve regained your composure from the steep gradient climbs!
